Went to Light-water Valley with some friends a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised to find they have a Bird of Prey Centre :)

Anyhow heres a couple of examples of what they have, they have these on open pirches that allow you to get good pictures, whilst hopefully not annoying the birds too much. They also put on flying displays aswell which are pretty amazing to watch how these birds fly.

Believe this to be a European Eagle Owl (not 100% sure though), taken with 85mm 1.8 @ f5

Bald Eagle taken with the 50mm 1.8 @ 1.8

Overall quite happy with the shots as they are pretty much straight out the camera, hope you like. Any advice on how to improve or anything I should have done but havent would be much appreciated :)

Thanks for looking(y)

Nice shots. get the impression these birds have seen a few photographers before :)

Very good shots Warspite ... (y) ... long time no hear ...

Both sharp and well exposed ... imo ... the Eagle Owl (correct in your assumption) is probably the better bacause there are no 'captive' signs as you have with the Bald Eagle ... hard not to and probably why many go for head and shoulders or head shots ... :D

Both birds are very photogenic, and the pics themselves are great, although you must have some jpeg compression there - they look a little on the soft side. (y)

not bad at all, as Chris says, a tad more USM
