Birds from Arran

Out of all the pics I took on Arran I was most dissapointed with the bird pictures i got. They all looked great on the camera, but quite typically looked rather crappy when i got them home and loaded them up on my PC.
I really really need to replace my Tamron 70-300 with a nice shiny Canon 100-400 L IS
Anyone got a spare grand?

There not bad. Thats always the way, they look great in the camera and aweful on the puter!

- there's some good ones there imho - have you tweaked them at all in pp (sharpen etc) - I noticed on the first one that you were at f5.6 but 1/800th - a bit less speed would have given you f8 or better which might have helped to sharpen things up abit (?)
