Spent this morning with my son at the Old Warden Bird of Prey Centre . You can get pretty close to the Birds & the flying display is excellent :).

Managed to get a few snaps (light was bad & I was useless:() .

A Vulture (nastius biterus)

A Owl (cuteus barnis)

And one to show how close they get , I actualy got hit by wings 4 times during the flying demo :)

I'll have to go back on a sunnier day armed with a faster shutter speed :bang:

LOL, love your descriptions.
The vulture (Rueppells Griffon Vulture ?) best out the 3.
I've got quite a few shots of BoPs, and keep meaning to sort them out and put some on here.

Love the vulture too but maybe you could crop it a bit tighter (top and right) IMHO.
Not sure you got the Latin spelling quite right though ;)

Thanks for the comments :) . Funny thing with the vulture is that I took it to prove to my son that you wouldn't see the mesh :D

Wish this one came out as clear :(

Yet another Owl (bigus scareous buggerus)

I never did Latin at school , it's a piece of ****

Must agree...the vulture is great. Well done

The first is very nice but I aslo like 3 (Flapius Eaglis) looking into the camea on it's flypast.(y)

first 3 are very good, you have any noise removal software?

Yup , I've got noiseware but was a bit worried that it would destroy the feather detail . The shots were taken at ISO400 , will have to try again on a sunny day :)

Try it and see :) . I've taken loads @ ISO 1600 and ran them thru Noiseware without too much degradation.

Nice series and very sharp..;)
