My first play with the flash off the camera











All are bigger and better with a click.
I am pleased with this first effort but have seen much better on here and will be glad of any pointers as how to improve them. Ian
 
3's amazing! I love how the middle just pops out at you - how did you manage that?
 
Very good use of off camera flash, 3 is lovely and rich in colour.
 
I agree, No 3 is really nice. It has a 'not real' feel to it like the stalks are just floating.
Well done you should be pleased.(y)

I think it is the combination of a quite shallow DOF and the lighting, As I said the flash was off camera and held so the light was across the face of the petals rather than on to them but the staimen then caught it full on making them stand out from the slightly darker petals.
Thanx to all for the nice words it really does make the effort worth while.
 
Normally I pass the flower threads by :) I'm glad I looked and agree these are fantastic shots, #3 wins though.
