Birthday Present...

Hi folks, its my birthday next month and my OH is nagging me about what i want...!

I'm not really sure what I want the only thing that I think i would benefit from would be an upto date version of lightroom, currently i;m running lightroom 1.


This is my kit list at the moment, anyone suggest anything else im missing that i would benefit from having... bearing in mind that its a birthday present so its going to be a sub £100 present (i can get lightroom as a student for £70


kit i have is as follows -
50D + grip
18-50 f2.8
50mm f1.8
85mm f1.8
70-200f4L
580EX
polarising filters for all lenses
cokin P filter set
manfrotto tripod (although it is a heavy old lump - its the silver jubilee model)
cable release
memory cards, batteries etc
bags

Now my gut instinct is that I have everything that I need for most of what I do (apart from a longer tele lens but as I said thats out of league!) and the best thing would be to improve my processing software, do people agree? what will i gain from lightroom 3 over lightroom 1?

lightroom 3 is a massive improvement over lightroom 2, so i can only imagine the leap will be just as big.

i think lightroom 3 would certainly be a good investment - you're not going to get a decent lens for your budget that you haven't got already, so i think that would be the best bet. download the demo from the adobe site and give it a whirl.

remember, if you know a student you can get the entire creative suite cs5 for a couple of hundred quid... so you get photoshop cs5 too.
