Friend has a Nikon D3200. When he puts SD in camera says SD card locked. Tried the switch but no difference. Has anyone experienced this? If camera needs repair where is it best to send Nikons to.

I would try a different sd card first , or put the one you are having difficulties into your computer to see if it work on that, might just need formatting.
 
you could also try resetting the camera in the menu,Darren i think the op has tried the switch according to his post but could also try it in both positions just to be sure
 
Sounds like a borked SD card, try another assuming you've already investigated the switch on the card.
 
Thanks folks. Unfortunately he doesnt have the camera here so that I can have a look at it. I told him to try another card when he first mentioned it but he doesnt have one !!

I had a f***** card did just that. Every time I put it into the slot it moved the switch back to locked
 
Stick a bit of tape over the switch, I had to do that on one of my cards, works fine I just keep it as a spare
 
I have a d3100 - and had a same problem with one card - I checked other cards they were ok

I binned the dodgy card
