black and white...

How does this edit look? Do you think I'm getting anywhere with this... I followed a tutorial but I could do with some advice on where to go next on this. Thanks.

looking at your image, i would crop quite tight to the bottom of the waistcoat, and bring the head down(obviously unless sized for a print )

the pose seems to work quite well for me, however the flower seems to be a little blown which is a shame

I like the photo, but i agree with you that it needs more punch. not good at this sort of thing but have you tried upping the contrast?

If I was doing this on film, I'd have used a yellow filter.
In photoshop you'd therefore probably want to boost the yellows or cut the blues, just before you convert to black and white.

the flower isn't blown in the original think I did that in the conversion. I played with the blue channel when I did this one but I not sure what I did exactly will go back to the drawing board try again and post the new version. PRactise, practise, practise. Thanks for help.

might be worth posting a colour and asking people to edit it for you and tell you what they did. might make it easier
