Does anyone on here use the black rapid camera strap ? primarily the double one for 2 cameras, I would just like your thoughts on them please, looking at the prices I've seen they go for around £95, having said that, I have seen some good looking equivalents for a third of that price, not sure why they are so much cheaper, as they look quite sturdy, or are you just paying for the black rapid name ?

Nothing wrong with buying cheap equipment, but with straps just double check the fastenings and any buckles/weak points when you get your hands on it.

Hi Tel, i have bought a Focus strap from ebay. It's not a double one, it's just a normal one that is essentially a BR Sport by the looks of things. Works a treat for me and having the under arm strap stops the shoulder pad slipping down the strap onto your front. Not sure if they do a double camera version though? I paid £12 iirc.

I had the Q strap, It broke on a seam. I sent it back. I now have the Black Rapid double and the build quality is 10 times better. It feels really well made. I wouldn't go cheap again.

That said, I use the Spider double strap more than I do a harness now. All the weight on my hips means I don't get a bad back after a long wedding.

Without having directly compared a Black Rapid with a Q-strap or equivalent - I do think the Build quality of the Black Rapids is excellent. And a recent post on the forum somewhere said something about refunding the cost of repairs to gear cos something fell off.

I can whole-heartedly recommend the HoldFast Gear Money Maker as just a nice, well-made thing.

I bought the black rapid knock off from eBay for under 6 quid. To me it looks like the exact same thing... Except a lot cheaper.

Incidentally, I have it hooked to my 5d3. I might get the official BR manfrotto adapter so I can use the quick release plate with the strap. :)
