Black Swan

I have never seen a Black Swan before this one appeared while the kids and I were photographing the ducks, geese and "conventional swans" at Billing Aquadrome, Norhampton. Are they rare or quite common? Thanks

Mark, there are usually a couple at our local haunt. I think they are escapees from collections.

Nice mark, shame you clipped the left of the neck on the 2nd shot, we had 3 black swans visit our local reserve even managed to get my shots used by our local newspaper

Thanks everyone. I will try and extend the left hand edge and clone the neck in. I like the idea of getting it in the local paper as well

Dont think their rare birds, but not a common visitor to our local reserve, think they are originally from Australia love how the eye is the same colour as the beak
