These elegant wading birds are rare visitors to the UK, though they have bred a few times here in recent years, including 2022. A more common bird in Europe, they can be found in quite large flocks, and these were photographed on the salt pans of Mallorca at Salobrar in the south of the island.

Just a suggestion but how about posting BIGGER pictures so everyone can enjoy them more? I think you're allowed 1,000 pixels on the longest side and 500k.

I didn't realise you could post bigger, still getting to grips with the site. I've been posting the photos using the URL on insert image. I'll have to have a look
