Blackrapid straps

Has anybody had any problems,with using blackrapid straps and battery grips.

ie The battery grip not being strong enought to support,the weight of the body and a lens

I used them on my Nikon D3 with the 24-70mm,the main thing I was worried about are how tough are the battery grips,because their going to take the main weight :)

There have been some problems reported with cheap third-party grips. I don't recall the details. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.

Thats what i had heard,i will be using Fuji own grip,but as you say " A chain is only as strong as its weakest link",i was just wondering if anybody had any problems with the makes own grips :)

I would expect the marque branded ones to be as strong as the camera's original tripod bush, though that may be wishful thinking ;) Those are very well secured, properly designed and manufactured, though it may be something you could check visually quite easily with a grip - if you have a bit of engineering nouse and poke around inside.

Strength is obviously important, but you also need to check against things working loose. Most of the problems with Black Rapids etc, though very rare, are not through anything breaking but simply becoming detached for some reason.

Thanks going to give it a try tomorrow,and see what it feel like :)
 
I use a third party battery grip and a similar strap and to be honest if it was going to break it should have by now with the way i treat my D3200 lol
 
I have a Fuji Xt1 with Fuji battery grip and 18-135 lens. I use the Opech strap http://optechusa.com/pro-strap.html

Back in my Nikon days I had a cheap Black Rapid copy which I did not get on with at all so converted to the Opech strap Been using them ever since. It works well with my Fuji

I bought one of those because the one that came with my Nikon nearly killed me. It's nice and comfortable and worth the money. I did have to stop using it though due to neck problems not related to anything camera wise.

If you are ok with this type of strap then i think it's probably one of the better ones to get. Cheap too.
