Blackstone Poppy Fields. Not this year

As part of the process to return the land to heath the poppy fields are not being ploughed this year meaning no swathes of poppies as far as the eye can see.

There may be a few scattered around but nothing like we have seen in recent years

thats slightly annoying, as I was planning a trip for that - any ideas on an alternative?

Oh I really wanted to get there this year (I live 5 minutes away) but just never got the chances at year!

Poppy fields do have an annoying habit of taking a year or two off and laying dormant....cheeky baggars!

There's usually a nice couple of fields out by Ashwood Nurseries. Park in the small car park and it's the triangular field
