Have recently come across references to a 'Blending filter' has been used. Apparently it 'goes from 3 stops at the top and blends evenly to zero at the bottom with no harsh edge stops'

Does anyone here use one or know any more about it? I understand that they are made to special order but by whom?

Sounds like a very soft ng grad to me - not sure if you'd be able to get one off the shelf (at least not that I've heard of) but Lee will custom make just about any filter at a reasonable price (reasonable compared to their off the shelf filters)

Thanks for that Rick, will look into that further.

Opto-Line is the US make filters to specified designs....I suspect that they'll be expensive for casual useage though.

Thanks Bob, appreciate your assistance. Think your right about the cost. Always am intrigued when you find a product mentioned and cannot find out any more about it.

Hi. a blender is a filter that starts with the colour at one edge and slowly goes to clear across the whole of the filter. (as was said earlier by Rick, it does not look too disimilar from a very very soft grad.)

Thanks for that info much appreciated.

An update on this filter for reference.

It is made by Lee to special order in grads 1 to 3 with the dense grad area at the top of the filter and graduated down to clear at about 10 mm from the bottom.

They are hand made and Lee advice that there can be a variation in the grad.

Costing is currently the same as normal Lee grads and a delivery timescale of 4 to 5 weeks.
