Bluedomain when I have my own domain?

I know that you can use your own domain space but how does it work?

How does the change over happen and what do I need to tell them or tell my current 1and1.co.uk domain hosts?

Do I loose everything off my own domain?
 
If I remember rightly they point their webspace to your domain name. Your current webspace will still exist as long as you pay for it but you will have to get to it by its IP address rather than a domain name unless you assign a new domain name to it.

I gave Blu my host's details and my host Blu's details and asked them to sort it out!

Only had one problem when the host migrated server a few days later and didn't drag the new Blu stuff over. Took a couple of day of somewhat terse emails but not missed a beat since. :)

Thanks, so im guessing it was all pretty stright forward? Was the process resonably painless and do you recommend them?
