A friend of a friend asked me to take some pics of his car as it recenty been
resprayed & had the wheels refurbed.

He requested mad, over processed type images which i think ive achieved & i
hope he is happy with them.

However, even though these were taken using a tripod & cable release, they
appear out of focus & im not sure why. Maybe its me, maybe its my lenses.
Both are Sigma of the 24-60 & 70-200mm variety.

Comments & advice more than welcome.

What aperture were you using?
They are sharp in places but not enough DOF.
Processing looks interesting though.

He's used F2.8 and 1/90 sec for the pics, white balance looks off on some of them.

Where you using manual focus? I wonder if your viewfinder is OOF (not sure its teh correct erminolgy but its adjustable on Nikon's so assume the same for other DSLR's? So maybe it looks perfectly focused but isn't?

Only other critique is close the windows - spoils the lines of the lovely looking car with open glass esp the rear ones :(

Yes bud.

Auto focus was used for these & I agree about the windows but it was at
the owners request.

Here is an original which was shot in raw & processed through Canon DPP & re-sized in PS.

shiny car
not too much of a fan though really, I think the colour has been bleached out and it looks like a 'venture' shoot... if that makes sense?
for over the top processing, what about something like cheesy and daft this

Higher aperture needed. F2.8 for these shots fails unfortunately. I love the BMW e46 3 series coupé - and have tried to shoot a friend's car a few times. It can be quite hard to nail a good composition, I think some of the angles used in these just dont sit right.

Thanks for the link bud & yes it was more of a 'venture' shoot.

Thanks for the advice. I wont be making a habit of shooting cars as it isnt
really my thing as you can see

As for the composition, these were more 'customer' requirements as i havent
really got a clue  :)
