Hi I am after a book on using flash as I just cannot seem to get to grips with it. I have tried to read the website one but am still struggling so a book may be better. I have understanding exposure and wanted a similar one about flash. I have seen this one recommended
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mastering-Ca.../dp/193395244X

has anyone read it? or do you have any other suggestions. Thanks

What type of photography are you mainly interested in? If its people photography then there is a wealth of resources available online, if you search for Joe McNally or Neil Van Kiekerk you'll find a lot of information. Both have also published excellent books which are available from amazon (one which was mentioned in the reply above).

I've read it and it's bang upto date for 2010 and an amazingly well written, well illustrated book on what was baffling for me to learn.

A fantastic book from front to back.

Good. Excellent book  He should do another one for Nikon as I don't think anything else like it exists.

Joe McN's Hot Shoe Diaries is also mentioned above, and that too is extremely good. Both books go well together IMHO. Although he uses Nikon, it's more inspirational than practical and it's not hard to translate from one brand to the other, they both work in exactly the same way.
