Hi Terry

What are you looking for in the book? Reason I ask is there are lots of books not camera specific that you can apply to your camera.

Are you new to DSLRs? If so a book like Understanding Exposuure by Bryan Peterson is often recommended (I bought it and found is useful). It would help explain the relationship between Shutter Speed, aperture, ISO etc - if this is what you are looking for you do not need a camera specific book.

If there is something in particular you don't understand o the camera may be worth postnig here - you'll get a faster, and probably better answer.

Hope that helps.

yes i am new to dslr
i have been useing digital cameras for a good few years then moved onto a canon g10 4 months ago but i would like to improve my skills a little more
would like something specific to the 500D as well if possible
i will look uo the two above

Don't know if this is any help, but I came across a book for the 450D, about 130 pages from basics to editing, very easy to follow, in full colour, printed by Future Publishing, about £7, produced by PhotoPlus the devoted canon mag, I should imagine that they do books to cover other canon models.
