Week 8 - Street Signs and Symbols

Sign of Ancient Activity.JPG

...But not recently....

This area was used for sand and gravel extraction, but that was all finished when I first walked here thirty years ago. Extensive efforts to restore it all to nature have gone very well, but this sign got left behind. With the nearest road half a mile away I didn't feel in any danger.

We have a local off-leash dog park that was once a military base and it also has odds and sods still slowly decaying away. Like this one, they always make for interesting images. Good capture Paul.

Nice one Paul. :)

When is a sign no longer a sign - great find.

Not for a long time it would seem

Nice one Paul. :)

Great sign, good to see the area has been restored

Thanks all for commenting!

Your safe there Paul,

Good find, and no bullet holes!

Week 9 - Horizontal and Technique - Long Exposure

Lines and Dots.JPG
Lines and Dots

This didn't work out quite as I had hoped, but sometimes you just have to go with what you have.

Alternative title (for those of a certain age) "The Mekon Attack Fleet Approaches".

The main image was a one second exposure - in case anyone is interested.

I really like that. It has a really cool analog feel.

Love this one Paul, Really like the processing. What exactly are we looking at?

Week 10 - Pattern

I suspect this will be a Marmite image, dividing opinion. When I saw the theme I fancied doing something graphic and edgy.

"Paper Pattern"

Paper Pattern.JPG

A stack of paper was carefully splayed (a technique I learnt in a past life - press gently on the top of the pile with a knuckle, and describe little circles; slowly the paper will splay out). Then a gradient map was applied to the image.

The last two images are stunning Paul, flipping brilliant creations!
