Yes #2 for me as #1 has too much blown out sky and not enough of that brilliant water...or is it varnisdh...SOOO smooooth.
#2 has good strong comp as well but that light beach area seems to dominate a tiny touch too much.

:agree: Although I'm not so bothered about the lighter beachy bit :)

That water does look amazing! :)

Definately No2 is tops for me.
The water is amazing.

The foreground seems to be giving a look of wide angle lens distortion to me and detracts from the scene.

Think I'd prefer the landscape version framed more like this -

Cheers guys for the comments. I might get a print of no.2 done.

Robert I can see what you are getting at but I think your crop only exaggerates the blown sky. I tried to fix the sky but then lost all the detail of the trees. I re-shoot would be required, doubt I'll be back in Tasmania for a long while yet though!

Was thinking more of the overall shot than exposure problems :)

edit. plus of course it is only us photographers that notice 'blown' skies :)

No.2 for me, looks like a lovely spot where you could get a bagful of keepers from various spots
