I have THREE of them inside one of my compacts. Only noticeable on clear blue skies. Probably not worth repair...

This is a brand new camera. I was thinking more of replacement.

If its brand new then it isnt capable of produceing photos that you would print so not suitable for purpose. Yes some people could edit out the mark but the idea of cameras in this range is take photo and print so return the camera and ask for a replacement and you don't want it repairing/cleaning just get it swapped.

send it back totally unacceptable in a brand new sealed pos, would also write a nice letter to the companies MD explaining it ruined your holiday snaps and see if anything comes of it.
