Boxing, ring events and low light primes

Hi!

So I'm doing some boxing photography again and might be going back to MMA, kickboxing etc events.
I also shoot a fair amount of indie wrestling and use a fill flash.
However, I'm really interested in getting a nice fast prime to shoot with as some of the events prohibit flash.
I shoot on a 5Diii normally (also I have a 7Dii).

So specifically, does anyone have any experience of the Sigma 24mm Art f/1.4?
I know that some go for 35mm on a full frame for boxing but I think a little wider would be handy for the way I shoot, esp for kickboxing.

My options include canon 28mm 1.8 but I've heard that it might not be worth it. There are 35mm options but I'd prefer wider..
The 24mm L ii but it's a little pricey I think for what I need.

The fastest wide that I current have is a Tamron 24-70 f/2.8

cheers, I have an event in March, and hire is about £40 so I might have a look. however, buying and reselling if it doesn't pan out might cost about as much.
 
I love a good prime lens and normally shoot with a 50mm or 85mm.
I'd aim to shoot at around f/2.0 with a prime in low light as I need around 1/320s or 1/400s, or faster for the rapid light weights.

Something to bear in mind, 1.4 primes arent as fast to AF as most of the fast zooms and youll have the shallower DOF thing. So while you get the faster aperture you may have a lower hit rate. Ive owned the Sigma 24, its a great lens imo, all the ART lenses are. Wouldve thought the 24-70 would be an excellent compromise.

I've used these options. the 5Diii is pretty good but still some of the venues can be pretty dark.
I also use neatimage as it's more versatile than noise reduction in light room.
I have a few shots that I really like from fight-nights but in pursuit of crisper and cleaner images I'm keep to try f/2 or even shoot at f/2.8 but get sharper results.
If f/2.8 is the best aperture for these events, is it worth getting a prime over the 24-70mm? even if the "speed" is the same?
So much kit I'd like to try out! but not enough money.

this is one of my favourite shots from last year, where I didn't use a flash. For wrestling I always use a flash as it helps with with the style of image I want to produce.
This one came out okay but I'm always looking for something just crisper or lower ISO when possible.
