If you set your camera to bracket a shot and say you only fire off two shots, one under exposed and the next correctly exposed then move on to another subject.

Will the next shot you take, for example an hour later be the over exposed one, or does the camera forget about the last shots?

Sorry, can't give you the answer but it is an interesting question.

My camera can also be set to take bracketed shots one at a time - doing three shots, eg +1, 0 and -1, requires three presses of the shutter release.

I have never worked out why anyone would want this facility. When I'm using bracketing I'm after the same scene photographed at different exposures so I can combine two or more of the shots later, so I set the camera so one press of the release takes all the bracketed shots.

You need to test with your specific camera, but yes.. generally the camera will remember where it was in the sequence and the third shot will be under/over exposed (as per the bracket sequence). To reset you'd either have to turn the camera off, or switch off AEB.

You may be able to change the AEB sequence, I have mine set to (I think) 0, -2, +2 so that the first shot is always the "normal".

Thanks Alastair, thought as much.

Coincidentally, the same question was asked in the Canon issue of the Photoshop August edition! :D
