Has anyone else noticed the increase in Canon and/or Nikon bashing on the forum recently, I know its only light hearted on here but it eventually seems to worm its way into every thread.

Its starting to get me down and it prepetuates the whole Nikon vs Canon thing. Can't we cut back on it a bit, we are supposed to be better than this.

I'm sad :'(

:agree: be it for professional reasons, or purely personal preference, who gives two hoots???

Its a photography forum, if you got a hard-on for a particular brand, go on there site :)
 
I was at Chester Zoo yesterday talking to an American lady who for her trip to England had bought a Cannon due to the 560mm Lens (not sure what specific lens it was but know it could go to 560). She usually uses a Nikon and as I had my Nikon we both had a laugh about it and ended up agreeing both have there perks and both have there downfalls. In the end it does come down to how people say things and how they act.

Personally I dont mind what people use to take photos, the end is the thing in Photography isnt it.
 
I agree, it was specifically the endless comments on the forum that are starting to get me down.
As I said I know they are light hearted here but its still kind of annoying, I suppose its like hearing the same joke over and over, it just gets boring hearing it!

How can you be sure you're not perpetuating it by starting this thread as well...?
 
To the OP.

It bores the bejesus out of me as well, I don`t give a flyer what people use, as long as they get the results they want and are happy enjoying what they do.

JMO.
 
It's just banter, I've never seen a serious argument about bodies.
We even do it on meets, I've joked with fabs plenty of times about using a Sony phone as he uses Sony kit.
feek is a Nikon user and we do the same with each other as well.
It's harmless fun and if anything got serious the mods would soon get involved.
It's nothing like people who waste their time getting into serious yet petty debates over MS vs Apple.

Lol ;) I think that's what he was getting at Neil. Who gives a rats ass what people shoot but I agree with him it's becoming tiring in near damn every thread seeing some sort of snidey (in jest or not) comment. There's a user here who particularly bugs me and has a tendency to post the line of 'He should have gone for the NIKON ;)' etc. Meh.

There's nothing malicious in it ofc.....it's just pretty tedious seeing the same 'clever' comments about brands in so many threads.....but at the end of the day you can just ignore them :)

There's only a point to which you can ignore the smell of ***** when you're wading through it... when it's everywhere you turn, it's pretty hard to ignore :lol:

Actually, a 20K Hassleblad is better.

Oh I don't bloody know, if you are happy with your photos then whatever you shoot with is better :thinking:

If people just accepted that CANON sucks ass, and Nikon owners have superior girths, we would soon get bored! :D

Seriously folks: All Canons are shi'ite - ask anyone: only yesterday a mate of mine had to send his 1D Mk III back for repair...lol
Buy Nikon...
Buy two..
Buy one for all your friends.
And all their friends too...





(As for the 'Ignorant Canon-Owner' thread...he was ignorant and he was a Canon-owner - you may infer from that what you will - I added a caveat in the opening line...If you ever bothered to read any of my posts properly you'd know full well that any real technological or equipment advice I offer is very even handed.)

GrumpyBadger, you obviously arent grumpy enough and therefore I win. :razz:

I'm not trying to perpetuate anything, It was actually more of a plea for people to cut back a bit as its getting REALLY dull to sift through, I'm not bothered by the better/worse thing itself, just the volume of it.

Thanks to those who "get it" like trencheel303 and mid gen.

Fabs: The issue i have is its like looking through a critique thread trying to learn something and there are 3 pages of "nice shot" comments, its just dull and adds NOTHING to the site/thread/my knowledge, and its BORING.
