Bridge Camera advice.

Hi all,
The Wife wants a new camera and wants a bridge camera, she is looking spending no more that £200, she has mentioned that she really liked the Fuji s7000 that I used have. It will be used to photograph our 3 kids and also for the middle one to use when we go out on photo days out. Advice and image samples appreciated.

This Fuji's weight is 500+ grams. What's the point?

For £200 I'd by Canon 350D (~£120 used) + 18-55 IS (~£70). This will do better than ANY bridge camera. Esp in regards with AF speed for photographing kids.

She specifically doesn't want a dslr, I have already been talking to her about this, TBF the s700 was ok for photographing the kids.
 
A dslr with an 18-55 lens isn't going to be much cop for shooting things further away. Beauty of a bridge camera is that you generally have a much longer zoom range that most dslrs cannot touch unless you spend several hundred pounds on extra lenses!

I'd also check out the panasonic FZ45 I think it is. Just over £200 or so but decent quality pictures. Doesn't have the slowness of the Fuji HS10.

The more expensive FZ47 which is due for release soon also has AF tracking so should be even better at keeping up with them when they're manic.
 
The s4000 is pretty nice and is around £180.
