Bridge Camera Advice

Hi guys

Looking to buy a bridge camera for my daughter....she likes point and shoot but would like to get DSLR near quality if that is possible.

Any users out there can offer a little advice it would be appreciated :thumbs:
 
The Panasonic FZ models are worth a look at. I've got the FZ7 which I purchased new in 2006 and it's still going sting now.
The cameras are very good quality and very easy to use, you can't go too far wrong at all with them.
I think the most current models are the FZ100 and FZ150, but there are some used bargains to be had if you look for slightly older models like the 28 or 45.
 
Thanks guys....i had been looking at the FZ45 and also the Nikon P100....

Lets see if either get any further support..
 
If she likes point and shoot but wants close to DSLR quality a bridge camera will be no better than any number of compact cameras as they will all be hampered by sensor size and stuggle to get the high IQ anyway (unless she needs huge zoom?)

I would suggest something like a Samsung NX100 and just leave on auto for point and shoot (also allow full control if/when required later).
They are currently £179 and do give actual DSLR quality rather than close to it.

Picked up an FZ45 at a very good price Mandy....and my daughter loves the camera!!:thumbs:

Does "just what it says on the tin" to quote her..:D
