Hello Folks. I'm after some advice on a bridge or prosumer camera for a specific task. It is mainly to take photos and videos of my two daughters at Gymnastics competitions where there is fast action and sometimes low level/challenging lighting. Also I can be seated some distance away from the equipment they are performing on and often need to zoom in.
I don't want a DSLR (I already have a Sony DSLR) because of the size and bulkiness of the lenses - most of the professional photographers at these events use Canon DSLRs with L Lenses that are way too big. At these events I'm their bag donkey and have to carry their gym bags, snacks, drinks, ipods, books, change of clothing etc etc. Anything the size of a DSLR is fine but with the built in zoom.
At the moment I'm using a Canon S5i mainly because it fulfils the long zoom requirement on photos and video, but is only 8MP and shows it. The photos I'm taking with it are often blurry from movement and when I set it to a faster shutter speed they end up grainy. A friend recently took a HD video using their Olympus SZ30MR and it showed how average my video was on the S5i.
I've looked at stuff like the Fuji HS30, Canon SX40, Panasonic FZ45 for a few months but am not sure which route to take. Help and any other recommendations please! Thank you.
