hi everyone... I'm posting on behalf of a friend of mine, and I don't know enough about bridge cameras, so was hoping someone might be able to come up with a recommendation or two that's done this kind of research before.

they're looking to buy a bridge camera, ideally for under £150 (don't even know if that's possible!)... mainly to use as a casual/social camera, but also to be able to take half-decent photos of their arts/craft stall which they do.

they've mentioned the Fuji S2500... any good, or any reasonable alternatives?

thank you!

Get a used S9600 for that money. Nice camera (Iwould say that I have one), shoot Raw and Jpeg, takes AA's, Takes a flashgun, can shoot in Manual, Aperture and Shutter priority, takes 58mm filters etc. For around £120 you'll get a good used one.

Other than that, not tried the other Fuji's, but seem pretty good, just have a motorised Zoom.

Yeah I have a fuji s8000fd and a fuji s9500 and they are both excellent cameras

All the photos on THIS page were done with these cameras and the fuji s8000fd is excellent for macro shots

I got my 8000fd brand new for £130 but they are hard to find now but to be honest I would go for either the s9500 or even better as lawrie29 said a s9600

Check ebay I got my s9500 for £50
