Howdy all,
Another selection of Rugby images. Shooting for press tonight so nice tight images the order of the day, but some with space for text drops.
As ever, on a D3 with a 300mm F/2.8. Used to camera in aperture mode to max the cameras ability and was naturally getting about 1/500th - 1/800th in the middle of the park where you get the hot spot due to the floodlights being at the corners of the ground. However, during parts of the game I under exposed by 1 stop to bring it up to 1/1000th which freezes action. That said I wish I had not as would have preferred to manage my levels from left to right, not the other way around.
WB was left on auto as flood lights can change during the match as they heat up etc. Overall, another nice haul, assigned to my stock/archive.
Questions welcome. In reference to the newer users, all I did to attain this standard was shoot, shoot, shoot - and I still do. Talking about tech, the day that a camera such like the D5 comes out with unlimited RAW buffering will be great as this will help loose the green cast that the flood lights hitting the grass causes. That said, in 72 dpi, it is no issue what so ever.
