Broken Flash help....

Ive just dropped my flash at a wedding, thnakfully i have a back up, I have insurance but need to know what sort of cost will be involved in repairing it.

does anyone know where i can send it off or who to ask. All that gone is the flash tube as its clearly broken, the electroics and zoom head work fine. Its a Canon 580 EXII.

Yeah i noticed they are quite cheap, cant say i would want to takle it myself though.
 
Be VERY VERY careful when dealing with a flash, the caps are powerful and hurt like hell, also they dont discharge even after afew weeks so if you are going to do it yourself look up every video on youtube there is on discharging caps with a resistor.
 
it looks like it could be quite stright forward to replace the unit, will have to call canon tomorrow to see how much the whole assembly unit is going to be.
 
25 quid from colchester cameras for the holder & lamp assembly. Not too bad.
