Broken Lens?

Hey all,

I didn't know where to put the thread, as it's kinda beginner/technical advice.

Anyway. I have a 28mm Miranda f 2.8 lens that I have had a while now - it was given to me by a friend a few years ago. I never really used it save for a few photos, so never really experimented with it.

I want to do some work with it on film and I attached it to my SLR and noticed some focusing issues. Namely that if I stood 5 metres away and focused at 5 metres or infinity, it wouldn't be in focus. I attached it to my DSLR (Pentax ist-DL) to test this out and as it happens the centre is not in focus when I take a picture. (I was shooting at f 2.8 btw)

I'm hoping I'm just being absolutely stupid and don't know how to use this lens properly, because I don't really have the money to buy or repair at the moment.

Any help is appreciated.

Sadly I do not think it would be worth the cost involved to repair so hopefully it will end up being technique rather than fault :(

Have you tried focusing using the focus indicator in the viefinder, Pentax is usually quite good that way, also you failed to mention what fitting the lens was, if ite a M42 screw and you are using a cheap chineese adaptor this would possibly not help.
