Brownsea Red Squirrel...looking a bit odd

Some will have heard that many of the red squirrels on Brownsea carry leprosy and there are ongoing tests being made by scientists from Southampton University. Once a squirrel is trapped and samples taken, they need some way of identifying those tested.... so they are shaving them mid tail !!!!!

Here is one I was shooting on the island yesterday

Well he does look a cheeky chappy even with his hair-styling by the scientists.

And a nice image as well with the framing of the tree limbs 'drawing' the eye properly.

got quite a few in that tree yesterday as it was the only place safe from the peacocks who were getting in the way on the ground
