I was on my way home today when i decided to stop by a local, traditional, photo shop.

In the display they had an old manual 24mm M42 lens. it said MADE IN JAPAN but I had never heard the brand before (Cimko).

I thought, what the heck, I will get it nothing to lose.

I came home and took a couple of shots wide open (f/2.8). Edited levels a bit and did a little sharpening but nothing major.
What do you think? First shot is the whole frame, just tidied up a bit. Second is an 100% crop.

It's a bit noisy ............ why ISO 3200 in daylight? But you may have found a true bargain there

It was in the house so not much light really (small windows with shutters!)
Should have used manual mode and dropped it down, will try more shots tomorrow.

The camera I used, my mail body, is an 1.3x crop. I also have an 1.6x crop I can use.

Will try some landscapes but anyway there I can stop it down to f8 so it should be sharp enough even in the corners.
