I have a 450D and I want to experiment a bit more with a decent flash for portraits etc. I have had a look around and I am considering the Yongnuo YN-468 and the Jessops 360AFD.

Please can people who have used either / both give me the positives and negatives? I have done a bit of research on here and haven't been able to find a definitive comparison.

I am also open to any other suggestions in the sub £100 flash market

Sorry do not use Canon but use NIkon and was in the same position as you.

I was thinking of getting a budget flash but in the end opted to get a second hand SB800 to ensure that I get the correct exposure each time.

When I was looking at flashes people did say that the jessops one was okay but build quality was very poor. The Yongnuo seem okay.

Another one to look at is the Nissin range.
 
Thanks. I was aware of the build quality of the Jessops one, so I might go to a shop and see how good / bad it is. Do you know which Nissin flash guns I should check out?
 
yongnuo is better quality than jessops, both do a good job though.
 
if you can pick up a 360 for ~£40 its worth it because it keeps its value for a little while..I've got it and its OK, just not the most reliable and, again, the quality is pretty poor. Paul
 
Thanks for all the advise. I am going to look into these a bit more. Are there any good sites that show recharge / recycle times etc.
