Budget lens....advice needed.

Hi,

I recently puchased a Tamron 17-50 f2.8 for my Canon 40D which is great for portrait and walkabout stuff etc but I'm after something with a bit more reach.

I'll be looking at something used/refurbished with a focal range of ideally up to 200-300mm on budget of about £250.

Am I being ambitious with the criteria vs budget? Any suggestions on what to get and wehere to get it would be greatly recieved.

(Baring in mind I have a few more posts to go before getting access to the classified adds here )

The Canon 55 - 250 IS is well rated and can be had for around £100 used or £190 new (maybe cheaper I didn't look very hard)
I was very pleased with the IQ and IS performance.

Thanks, I'll have look at some reviews etc. and see how much they're going for.

They're £130 new from Flash Camera. It's a great lens for the price
