Looking for a budget zoom to try out on my new 40d ive just brought, i used to have a siggy 150-500 but sold it......:bonk:, looking to pay no more than £300, looking for something thats going to be half decent in sharpness, and have a good focal range..... Any Idea's :shrug:
 
Should get a 70-300mm IS for around that price. Cracking lens.

What focal range? for £300 your definitely looking at the 2nd hand market

70-200
70-300
120-400
 
If you try to find a little extra,you could get a Sigma 70-200 2.8 or a Canon 70-200 f4.

To be honest any of these focal lenths would be fine, would love a canon 70-200mm f4 but over my budget i think, how good is the 70-300mm IS :thumbs:

Not as good image quality wise as the 70-200mm f4, however, its a great gem of a budget lens. Be careful with this lens to get the right one, Canon have made several lenses of this ilk, 75-300mm/70-300mm and versions, the one you should look out for is the Canon EF 70-300mm f4-5.6 IS USM Lens.
