Bug I.D needed.

Looks like a carpet beetle. I will have a look in my book later.
 
OK! from memory (it's not that good!) It is from the Larder Beetle family, and carpet refers to the way it looks, not the place it lives!
Could have come in an open window, on your clothes, pet etc.
The beetle will not do any harm, but the larvae might!

Tis a varied carpet beetle and the larva eat carpets and natural fibres and are known as wooly bears. infestations can be really troublesome.
 
bit old... but possably from a birds nest in the roof'
