I'm not entirely sure if this is best suited in this category, But if not i'm sure the mods will move it !

I'm thinking about building a pinhole camera like so (http://www.instructables.com/id/Juice-Box-Pinhole-Camera/?ALLSTEPS)

Using a similar method but out of a different sized box etc. I'm doing this just for fun so i'm not expecting any amazing shots, But has any one here played around with home built pinholes ? What sort of shots should i expect ? and do you have any tips for me ? ...

My very first photograph (aged 7, at after-school photo club) was taken with a pinhole camera, but much lower tech than that one. It was made from an empty photo paper box, about 3.5" x 3.5" x 6". Cut hole in front of box, and covered with heavy foil. Pinhole in foil, then cover pinhole with black tape to act as a shutter.

In the darkroom, load one sheet of paper opposite the pinhole, then tape up box. To take picture, remove shutter tape for one minute.

Back in darkroom, remove paper & develop. Result: a blurry but definitely recognisable image.

This has just set me thinking. I've got an old P&S with a terminally jammed lens. For a little winters evening project I might try turning it into a digipinhole.

Some impressive stuff here

There were some threads somewhere a year or so ago when there was a spate of DSLR bodies using a body cap with a small hole drilled in it to act like a pinhole camera.

however it has Canon snap-on body cap..............

Well after looking through some simpler designs, I'm thinking of going with a design like your old one gridlock... but a bit updated design. Has anybody got any info on how to develop the photo paper ?

Slosh it about in a dish of D76 until you get a good image (use red safelight) then acid fixer bath.... Aaah the real way to get photos :D

Can you even get the chemicals these days what with all the H&S :(

if you like pinhole cameras you should look up camera obscura online, basically using a room as a pinhole camera :D
