Bulb exposure limit on digital

ERRR...it's time. Minutes and seconds. Depends on the timer you use. Sometimes it just shows seconds. Some you set as a countdown timer in minutes and seconds.

It would probably vary with camera, some used to have sensor heat issues, so bulb was limited
A cheap involometer should have a setting for exposure, but camera will need to be on bulb mode

So if a it is open for an hour will the time be shown in the exif as 3600 seconds or will the timer go back to 0 at after going past the 999 mark
if you want to you can just hold it open till the battery runs out it would normally be shown in seconds only way to find out is to take a photo longer than 999 seconds and see what it gives you.i have a friend who did just that (left on tripod till battery expired) didn't see the exif data though. try a search on flickr etc for your camera look for long exposures and see if the exif data is there.(some people hide it) hth mike
