yes indeed effjay a difficult lighting situation going on in both of these.
my favorite bird, the bullfinch, a very tricky one to photograph in my view as the black headcap and beak dissapear from detail unless the lighting is just right, and you have a lighter background to make these features stand out.
The bullfinch is cropped just right and his "red grey and black uniform" is there in the shot alright but pity the lighting is not in your favor.
Nice try though effjay, lets see some more bullfinches
