Burton Zoom Back Pack

Hi,

I have just bought a burton zoom back pack.

How can I tell what liter the bag is? As I asked for a 26l but it looks like a 28l.

Also you access the main compartment through the normal way, where as I thought the Burton Zoom was accessed from the rear for security?

My main concern is the size, it seems very big for a 26l...

Hope someone can help.

I have the Zoom pack from a few years back. Mine's the 28L, as opposed to the Pro version, which was supposed to be 30L.

Mine has rear access with the removable padded inner unit that the camera is stored in.

It is a large bag; I could get two D2X bodies, a 80-200mm, 10.5mm, 12-24mm, 50mm, 85mm and a flash in that compartment. Other flashes went in the top zipped part.

Great bag TBH - I've just swapped to a Lowepro Vertex 200AW and to be fair, the Vertex isn't that much bigger, it's just more padded and has waterproof zips. But it doesn't have rear access and doesn't have the additional space that the shovel puch afforded for putting my flash case in. I'm keeping my Burton for when I go snowboarding because as a pack to wear for long periods, it kicks the ar$e out of the Vertex.
 
It does seem to be a great pack but maybe a bit big for me. Looking at this do you think its the 28l?

I think its an old style on hence the opening from the normal way.

Yeah, i think that's about 2004/5 - I got mine in 2007 and I know they'd done a couple of rear entry ones before that but it had originally started out as a normal backpack with with a front opening.

What gear have you got currently? I thought mine was too big to start with but add a few lenses or another body to your collection and you start filling space very quickly.
 
Ah an oldie! I think id prefer the smaller 26l pack though as I wouldn't take everything out with me on the slopes.

1 body, 3 lenses inc 70-200, tripod, little things like memory cards etc is all I would need to take.

hmm decisions!
 
I'll take my 28L with two bodies, 80-200mm, 17-50mm, flash and a fisheye in March. Boarded with a full kit the other year in ADH and although it was good, when/if you stack it it's a little bit of a worry. Plus, you end up not enjoying the trip because all you're thinking about is photography and your gear. I'm gonna have one solid day of shooting in March and then just fanny around with a point-and-shoot for the rest of it :)

Yeah I think that's the best plan. Taking out everyday will be a bit tedious. But chances are the day the light is spot on, and the view is will be the day the backpack aint on!
 
Yep, that's always the case. Gonna get myself a decent compact - something like a a canon G-series - for those days when I don't want to lug the proper gear around but still want good pics
