Thanks Joe .... raining today and set in for the week apparently

I'm clueless with Butterflies, just flick thru the book and hope that I see it

It could be some kind of Fritillary?

Same here pal, pretty much hailing down here and has been all afternoon nasty weather...

Just gave it a quick good now you mention it and I found something called a Silver-washed Fritillary which looks pretty similar if not the correct ID...
 
Silver washed frit' looks nearest to me too

The only interesting Butterflies I saw were Swallowtails

but ISO2500 .... because of the light!
which of course changed as it moved around
