Yes
I recently brought a lens from the classified section on impulse and at the time got cold feet and thought I had probably made a mistake.
I have now had the lens for a few weeks and have to say I am totally blown away with the results it produces.

I use to own a Nikon 70-200 f2.8 VR which I thought was good but this new lens beats it hands down for IQ and sharpness.
Ok the lens I brought was a Nikon 180mm F2.8D AF IF ED, 8 months old and in mint condition, I am using it more on my D700 than I thought as I brought it to live on my D300s really.

When it arrived the fact it was a prime made me think I would not get much use from it, I could not have been more wrong, looking back on my usage with the 70-200 I notice 70% were taken between 180 and 200mm.
Then I thought what will I shoot with it, so far the list has been landscape, Wildlife, Birds, Plants, Portraits and still life’s.

The great thing about this lens is the fact it is small and light, has a built in hood and is as fast as anything to focus.

Below are a few shots taken and maybe it is just me but I am so happy with the results that I wanted to share this with you as I think every Nikon user should have one.

I 2nd that!

Top shots - the DOF on that second one is quite surreal, makes it look like one of those 'miniature scale' pictures.

NOT what I need to hear! :) Looks like a good buy!

I use to own the Canon 200mm f2.8 L many moons ago and rated it very highly, then went on to zoom's but i have to say this little gem is the best i have used inc the 70-200 vr and is so light and easy to hand hold it is a must have,
