My local photographic society in Preston are currently looking to buy a new projector because the one we have currently gives a very poor colour rendition and is quite dark. Weve tried having it calibrated but the results were still no good. Weve spoken to another local club and theyve spent £2,000 on a new projector recently but were wondering whether spending that much money is really necessary. We currently have a budget of up to £3,000 for new equipment but we dont need to spend any more than we have to on a projector. Its obviously important that we get a good one because its primary use is to display the monthly competition entries and also the work of visiting speakers so we have to show the photos at the best quality we can.
Does anyone have any experience with using projectors? What kind of projector would you recommend and where is the best place to go to buy one? Were happy to buy off the internet but ideally wed like to see the projector in action before we buy so any recommendations of shops in the North West of England would be appreciated.
