Depends were you buy from; many places now will add the duty, etc on when you buy; but it consists of import duty of between 0 to 25% (I assume camera kit is probably higher); then VAT is added (UK 20%) and an admin fee from the courier/Royal Mail
Some won't pre-add the fees, duty, etc and it might slip through customs....

Shouldn't make any odds if its coming from the EU; the fees/etc are UK set so really anything coming in from anywhere in the EU should get the same treatment
