Yes
Im looking at buying new lenses but im not sure what I should look for and how could I tell which lens is best of the same time (eg 70-300 sony, 70-300 sigma)

any info would be great

What's the reason for the new lens? You want the extra reach, you want something with IS, you want a faster lens etc. I think if you tell people that they will be better able to assist you. Are you only looking at those two lenses?

im looking at a wide range of lenses reach, wide etc.

never thought about hiring

and yeah I have a overdraft & credit card, but I have money in the bank to cover at least one lens

What are your main interests in photography? Bugs? Birds? Motorsport? Portraits? .......

That'll determine which lens should be the first to buy..

You can get an 'all in one' sort of lens (like the 18-200VR), but you need to be more specific on your requirements before someone will suggest a lens.

well I try to do a bit of eveyrthing, but mainly its old building, landmarks landscapes etc

I would have to say that I had no problems hiring a lens from lensesforhire. It was a lot cheaper than I thought it would be to start with.

I would also suggest, that buying a lens on credit card would be better than debit anyway. Usually, any purchase over £100 is protected by the credit card company as well. Should the item dissappear in transit, be of non-merchantable quality etc. then your credit card company can refund you the money, and persue the sellers on your behalf.
One would hope that this never becomes necassary, and that any shop would be reputable, but it is a bit of extra benefit. I pay my CC off every month, so there is no charge/interest.
