C&C on website !

I have my web developer hat on here so sorry if this is a little harsh (not meant to offend or anything).

First of all good job, I really like it. I have noticed a couple of things which I would personally change though, but this is just my opinion.

1. Your navigation text is smaller than your body text, I would make it the same size.

2. I would make the overall width of the site a little wider, mainly for a couple of reasons. The first is that monitors and resolutions are much bigger now, from web analytics data you will see very few 800x600 monitors now. The second is that at my laptop resolution (1280x800) you have to scroll to read the rest of your introduction.

3. Your email address I would encrypt with some JavaScript or change into a contact form or once you get yourself on search engines you might find yourself getting a bit of spam. Have a look for at these results for some examples.

4. Finally, nice pictures, great site and really good effort, might even subscribe to your RSS feed :) I would get rid of the Made on Apple logo at the bottom, I have found people usually don't care, especially as it's not a technology website. Maybe replace that with a copyright notice.

Like I say though, good effort for your age, keep up the good work.
 
hey alex, nice work. i can only echo what martyn said about the width of the page.

like the textured background and the quality of the images are great. the only thing i'd probably change (and i don't know if you wanted feedback on the 'look and feel' of the site only or it's content as well), but if i were you i'd promote myself for the hard work that you have put in and not mention your dad. it sounds a bit like you're hanging on his coat tails to improve your work.

looks to me like you're easily capable of doing your own thing and your work is good enough to stand on its own.
