Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if you can share your Custom shooting modes (C1-C3) for Canon 5 mark III

I am new to the Custom settings and really will appreciate any help or recommendation!

or if you have some useful resources,articles or other professionals that are recommending any Custom shooting modes,please post it here!

(i mainly shoot landscapes,architecture,closeups, wildlife)

I'm a landscape photographer so my custom settings might help.

C1 is my main go-to landscape setting which gives me a quick starting point.

Manual exposure
F11
1/30th
Mirror lockup
Single shot drive
Single point focus, though I usually manual focus or use liveview

C2 is my long exposure setting, for Big Stopper shots

C3 is my bracketing setting, for HDR

I hasten to add I use these as a quick base setting, I vary them as required, it is just handy to know that if I see something as I'm driving that I need to grab then C1 and I'm up and running in the right direction.
 
My C3 is also for exposure bracketing. AV mode, f/6.3 (no idea why) and +/- 2EV. with auto ISO. I use this for hand held HDR. I too use these just as a starting point.

I do use the other two but it varies, as i sometimes forget what's on them so tend to set them while im out and about if i find im using certain settings a lot.
 
I don't have a 5DIII, but the custom modes on my 7D are the same.

I keep the non-custom mode for general photography, and use the custom modes for my birds-in-flight and dragonflies-in-flight shots, essentially to change the AF mode. For example, C1 = spot AF (for when there is a fussy background), C2 = AF expansion (for a nice clean background).
 
I use a 40D, but the custom modes are the same.

The way I see it, if I'm out shooting landscapes then I'll take the time to set up the camera for shooting landscapes. So I use the custom settings to give me *quick* access to different setups if the need arises unexpectedly.

C1 = "f/8 and be there". Aperture priority, f/8, centre point AF, single shot, ISO 200. Whatever I've been doing with the camera, I can set it to C1 and get a quick grab shot.

C2 = Action. I can't remember the exact settings - haven't got my camera with me - but it's all AF points, high speed drive, probably ISO 400, probably Aperture priority with the aperture wide open to give me the fastest shutter speed. Something like that.

C3 = Exposure bracketing. Same settings as C1, probably, but with +/- 2 stops of exposure compensation dialled in.
