Cable Release for 7D

Are there different types of cable release rather than the simple single press to take the shot, or do others have additional facilities. I need to get one for my 7D

that looks good but the specification does not list the 7D. However it does list the 5D Mk II so it may work. I will investigate further and appreciate your help......................... WOW ! Just seen the price!

Out of curiosity, can you get a wireless remote for the 7D, or can you only buy wired shutter releases?
 
Canon RC-5 remote. I have one that I used with my 400D and tried it with the 7D and it works. Although I only got it doing a 2sec timer release. Didn't play with it for long so might do other things.

There may even be a newer version RC-6?
 
I got a TC-80N3 equivalent from China (I also have the proper Canon one) and they are identical except for the plug, which on the Canon one is held in positively with a clip, the copy isn't but works every bit as well. It was about £22 delivered.

Do a google search, if you can't come up with something, I'll try and find the link, Malcolm.

the TC -80N3 was a bit pricey but fortunately a Canon RS 80-N3 was advertised on TP yesterday which I got for £25. So am pleased with that.

Appreciate everyones input ... what a friendly bunch you all are!

RC-6 works...

Makes the 2 second delay optional...

I also have a cheap ebay cable release that works a treat....
