Cable release question

Hi guys, do they make a cable release that you can change shutter speeds on? My reason for asking: i wanted two shots of the moon at two different shutter speeds but every time i touched the camera to change the shutter speed the whole lot moved (big heavy lens on a girly tripod ) I wanted a big difference in speed so i don't think bracketing would have done the trick.

Any ideas?
Regards
Chris.

Depending on how big a change you wish to make I would have though Auto Exposure Bracketing may have done what you wanted, however if it doesn't, you could try shooting tethered if you are in a situation where that is possible.

DIYPhotobits lets you alter the camera settings and shoot remotely. :)

Obviously it needs a computer attached of some sort, which may not always be possible. ;)

I would guess the easiest way would to tether it to a laptop?

Get a decent tripod.
