Hi folks I was wondering if anybody has the same problem as me.
Since june i have gone through 4 cable releases on my D200
They are just the cheap ones of ebay and a couple from 7 day shop
I dont want to buy the Nikon one at around £100 for this to pack up also
Anybody on the same boat as me?My mate has a D300 and he has gone through a couple also in the last year

not a nikon user but what could go wrong with these things surely they are just circuit breakers etc.. simple mechanics. have they failed in the same way?
 
They just stopped working I did open one up but couldn't see anything out of place
Perhaps dirt could have gotten into the socket where it plugs into but who's to know and how could you clean that out

i suspect the cheap ones are made from cheap materials and are more prone to breaking where as the Nikon one will be made from a more expensive set of materials so should last longer. in theory of course
